Safety is stressed on a daily basis at Hard Rock Trucking. We take pride in the fact that we have transported over 800 tower sections, over 300 blades, 200 nacelles, and 200 hubs without having any lost time accidents. Safety comes first and we believe with proper training and techniques we can prevent accidents, and continue to grow our safe haul numbers.
Hard Rock Specialized has implemented a fleet safety and management program that contains several key sectors. The principle of this program is to:
- Reduce vehicle accidents
- Decrease cargo damage
- Reduce employee injuries
- Reduce operating costs
- Protect the public
- Protect company image
Fleet safety is a management responsibility, and management must see that a program is developed, implemented, and effectively directed; and that is exactly what HRS has done. We have implemented an enduring process for managing our trucks that includes daily inspections, scheduled preventative maintenance, and driver training and awareness programs. We understand that our trucks represent not only our company but also our customers so we do everything in our power to keep them in top working order. You will find that all of our trucks and trailers are clean, well maintained, and ready to work.
Maintenance Programs
Mechanical deficiencies are often a contributing factor in accidents investigated by the Office of Motor Carriers, and most DOT roadside inspections invariably find vehicles with deficiencies serious enough to deem them out-of service. At Hard Rock Specialized, every officer, supervisor, and driver play a critical role in our preventative maintenance program. We have detailed inspection policies that we adhere to and any findings are immediately dealt with. These inspections include the following:
- Brake inspection
- Roadside inspections
- Pre-Trip Inspections
- Post-Trip Inspections
- Annual Vehicle Inspections
Detailed maintenance files are kept for all equipment and we are in full compliance with all DOT regulations.

Hard Rock Specialized Company Safety Policy
Commitment
Employees are actively committed to the achievement of a safe, healthy work environment. Every employee, at all levels, is required to demonstrate a commitment to this goal. Management is dedicated to providing adequate resources to achieve this vision and follow these principles. Through communication, training, and a detailed set of fleet management policies and procedures HRS remains focused on reflecting this approach in our day to day operations.
Accountability
Achievement of a safe work environment depends heavily on the continuing participation and accountability of management. Responsibility for the safety of employees, customers, and the general public is a matter of corporate policy, it is a matter of law, and the failure to comply can have severe consequences.
Management Systems and Standards
HRS will develop, implement and continuously improve effective health, safety, and DOT management systems to reflect best industry practices. We will extend our knowledge by conducting or supporting research, training, and proper controls where practicable.
Risk Management
HRS will strive to eliminate or manage any foreseeable hazards.
Compliance
HRS will operate to standards that will meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the USDOT and OSHA offices. Where no regulatory controls exist, HRS shall adopt and impose our own.
Training
Training is an essential element of a safe work environment. All HRS employees will be qualified by reason of education or experience to discharge their responsibilities and will participate in a program of continuing professional development. In addition, HRS is committed to provide training and development on safety, equipment training and other matters that is appropriate to each employee's job duties and responsibilities.
Continuous Improvement
HRS believes that effective safety management is good business. As in other areas of our business, HRS is committed to continuous improvement of these practices. HRS believes that devotion to these principles will assist us in achieving our objectives of operational excellence. Each year HRS will identify specific goals against which we will measure our progress and HRS will show resolve in continually improving the overall safety of our operation.
Monitor, Audit and Review
Effective management requires on-going assessment and review to determine whether the health, safety and environmental policy is being appropriately implemented. Accordingly, an on-going assessment, self-evaluation and audit program shall be implemented and maintained for operations throughout HRS. The objective of this program is to provide management with verification that operations are in compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and standards and to facilitate the spread of best practices throughout the HRS's operations.
